We pre-tested our students on the MCE exams (E/LA and Math) to analyze their strengths and weaknesses, and paid for them to take the exams out of our grant funds. This turned out to be a good move because particularly with math, students did show similar strengths and weaknesses, and now we know where to focus our attention. We're planning to pay for another round of testing once we've set up a practice website in a month or so, and then we're piloting a one-credit hour prep course in the fall. That way, we'll have scores with no or self-directed prep, prep through a provided website, and prep through the class and website. Our students seem eager to participate.
